I’ve had the most glorious 5 day long weekend – why can’t every weekend be 5 days long? I’d be cool with a 2 day work week.
Not only have I had a lot of time off but it’s been absolutely gorgeous in Vancouver. Usually Mother Nature hates us with a passion and curses us with endless rain on long weekends. Instead, it feels like summer in the city – the temperature has been around 16 degrees C in the daytime and it’s been continuous sunshine since I got back from Ottawa on Wednesday night. The birds are chirping, the cherry blossom trees have exploded in luscious pinks and laughing, screaming children have descended on the park across the street. I’ve been able to take my little Abby on walks every day. Here’s a photo of her eating a dandelion today:
Keeping with this light, vibrant, summery feeling, I made lemon angel food trifles for my friend, Tara, over at Noshing with the Nolands.
Tara’s a fellow Canuck and a fabulous lady. She features the most delicious recipes on her blog so I wanted to make sure I made something worthy of her. Go and check out these trifles here.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!
We´re having a pretty good weathered long weekend too, except for today. That cute Abby! I love dogs so much, they´re such wonderful company. Off to check the guest post!
I guess it has to rain somewhere. It was a good mixture of rain and sun over here in New Zealand for Easter. We had plenty of rain but it stopped for long enough for us to swim at the beach too. Loads and loads of communal cooking. There’s nothing quite like meal, after meal of shared feasts.
Nancy,
Summer in the city sounds lovely. . it’s been pretty nice here too. . I’m not going to question anything and will just enjoy it!
